Electrician - Locomotive

Our client is a leading provider of rail maintenance services across Australia. We are currently talent pooling Electricians for a potential project to begin in January 2026, for a casual 6 month Locomotive Maintenance project that has the potential for ongoing work.

What’s involved?

• Locomotive Electrical maintenance
• General machine maintenance and general mechanical work
• Reading Electrical drawings
• Working autonomously and as part of a team
• Workshop based with potential for work on the Rail network
• Day shift with potential for afternoon shift

What are we looking for?

• Electrical Trade Qualification and Electrical Licence
• RIW Card - preferred
• Forklift ticket - preferred
• Locomotive or mobile plant / machine maintenance
• Excellent work references that can support your application

What we can offer you:

• $68 / hour - casual day shift rate
• 6 month project that can potentially extend to ongoing work
• Potential for afternoon shift
• Newcastle based
• January 2026 start
• Ongoing support from your Randstad team
